Open beds for winter

Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center has 12 beds for families as of 12/01/09. Call 455-2160

Volunteers of America-Detox (443-4688) currently has 32 beds for single men as of 12/01/09. Need to show up to North A St. Shelter on 1400 North A St. from 9:00-12:00 am.

Volunteers of America-Readiness will have 50 beds for single men and women beginning in December. Referrals needed from shelters or recovery programs.

Motel Vouchers will provide about 50 beds as of 12/01/09 and about 100 beds as of 12/15/09 for shelter-referred clients meeting priorities: elderly (60+ years), families w/children who cannot get into a shelter, referral from shelter of persons w/contagious illness or medical disabilities, shelter overflow. Emergency Shelters should call Sacramento Area Emergency Housing Center (257-6126) and leave a message. A staff will contact you back.
