One Day to Prevent Homelessness

Sacramento Steps Forward and Sacramento Region Community Foundation presents One Day to Prevent Homelessness. For every $1 privately raised, we receive $4 in emergency funds from the Federal Government. Our goal is to raise $400,000 to receive $1.6 million, allowing up to 2,000 eligible families and individuals to be served through the Homelessness Preention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP) in Sacramento County.

Sacramento Homeless Connect 2010 at Sacramento City College.

Sacramento is hosting its third Project Homeless Connect on May 22, 2010 at Sacramento City College. Homeless Connect is a nation-wide event hosted in many different cities; it is a one-stop shop for homeless guests to access a variety services, including housing, healthcare, legal aid, repairs, haircuts and more. The last two Homeless Connects have been a great success! Last year, over 700 homeless guests attended, and 300 service providers from 60 different organizations participated. Additionally, 400 volunteers from the community helped make the event run smoothly.
